Nelson Levitt, Class of 1937
Nelson Levitt was born in the Bronx in 1921. He fought as an Army Officer in WWII, was awarded a purple heart, served on the Jewish veterans board, owned a furniture business and dedicated his entire life to helping fight for human rights. Nelson had a passion for music and was a fine amateur pianist. He was also an avid runner who completed several New York City marathons through his 60's. Nelson had a devoted wife Yetta of 74 years, daughter Ronnie, son Ricky (deceased), son-in-law Deryl (deceased), and two grandchildren, Kyia, and Esu. He was deeply beloved by all who had the pleasure to know him.
