Alexander “Al” Sparer, age 100 of Lambertville, MI, passed away early Saturday morning in his home. He was born Sept. 6, 1909 in New York, New York to Herman and Regina (Kleinberg) Sparer. He married Peggy Ann Hackiel Jan. 7, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland. He attended Townsend Harris High School and was a proud graduate of New York Law School. Al is best known by his friends and family as an accomplished pianist. He played in the Poconos as a teen-ager, on Broadway to help pay for college and on many Detroit stages. He was a member of the Detroit Federation of Musicians. For many years he operated The Al Sparer Theatrical Agency in both Detroit and Wyandotte, MI. Al was married to the love of his life, Peggy, for 57 years. Most of their years together were spent in Wyandotte, MI. For the last nine years he has lived with his son, Doug and family in Lambertville, MI and loved to spend time fishing with his grandsons.

Al is survived by his son, J. Douglas and daughter in law, Karen, two grandsons, Douglas and Steven. Al was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy, parents, Herman and Regina Sparer, sister, Tillie Kiedan, brothers, William, Ty and Leo Sparer.
