Captain Morris Aaron Nossov, D.V.M., U.S. Army Retired, passed away April 17, 2007 in Austin, Texas at the age of 89. Dr. Nossov was born in New York, NY on February 18, 1918.
Dr. Nossov was a graduate of Townsand Harris High School in New York, NY, attended the College of The City of New York for his pre-veterinary education, and attended Kansas State University 1934 – 1939 where he graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, Dr. Nossov served as a Veterinarian for the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture and City of Detroit Health Dept. He was called to active duty in the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps, retiring in 1945 after his military service. Dr. Nossov was general manager of Lincoln Packing, Division of American States, Co. and manager of Quality Assurance Meat Dept, American Stores, Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Nossov was a student at Villanova University, Villanova, PA and master swimmer, U.S. Masters Swimming, Berwyn, PA 1979-1987.
Morris is survived by his wife of 62 years, Adele Mae Nossov; brother, Gabriel Nossov; nephews, Robert Nossov & wife, Patricia, Glen N. Nossov & daughter, Ariel, Martin Nossov & wife, Alicia, Don Nossov & wife, Nancy Harkness; and niece, Irene Purcell.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00 P.M. Sunday, April 22, 2007 at Harrell Funeral Home in Austin.
Graveside services will be held 10:45 A.M. Monday, April 23, 2007 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
