Morton Kramer, Class of 1936

KRAMER Morton Reuben Kramer of Shelton, passed from this world Friday, April 3, 2009, at the age of 88. He is survived by Irma, his devoted and loving wife of 63 years; his sons, Alan and Gordon; and grandchildren, David, Jason, and Atara. Mort grew up in New York City, attended New York University, and served with the Army Corps of Engineers in World War II. He had a long career in marketing, but what meant the most to him was his devotion to family and friends and his great love of music. He was a talented pianist and singer, performing with the Fairfield County Chorale, Mendelssohn Choir and Connecticut Grand Opera Choir. Mort touched everyone who knew him with his kindness and generosity of spirit. During his many years in Westport, he was a member of Temple Israel, the Y’s Men and was active in many causes in the community, including the American Association for the United Nations, and served as a tutor for needy students.
